Kala Patthar Trekking

The Kala Pattahr is the second most popular trekking destiny and destination. It is located right at the bottom of Pumori(7661m), a noted mountain that has drawn the attentions of hundreds of thousands of mountaineers and climbers. Kala Patthar lies directly above Gorakshep. Gorakshep is within the vicinity of Everest Base Camp. What enchants and entices trekkers to go to Kala Patthar iks the possibility of seeing the summit of Mt. Everest without any climactical hindrance. From Gorakshep, view and vista of Everest can be seen but summit is not visible. So, it becomes indispensable to make a climb to Kala Patthar.

Of all trekking sites, the Kala Patthar is increasingly popular because it can be reached without having any mountaineering experience and equipment. Trekkers have the likelihood of seeing deep gorges, rugged ridges, and glacial valleys if they undertake the trip to Kala Patthar. From Gorakshep various Himalayan vegetarian pine trees, juniper, bare rock and snow are clearly noticeable to trekkers who are on the way to the Kala Patthar from Gorakshep. The journey to Kala Pattahr is followed by the ascent and then a dip to an ancient lake. The ascent proceeds ahead with a series of steep switchbacks before leveling off. Upwards move and leveling off occur simultaneously on the journey. Steep downward m The steep and upward turns, solitary and dense pine forests on the both sides of the way and occasional howling of hilly animals are sufficient enough to forget the discomforts and exhaustions of trekkers. The complete ascent to the Kala Patthar usually consumes approximately 2 hours or thereabouts. Those who are novice in the field of trekking can cultivate adaptation to climate by lingering in Gorakshep for a few days. Trekkers curious to explore and observe the Kala Patthar in entirety could not help raising their concern as to which time of a day favors mostly their trekking trip? In the morning, it is difficult to get the clean and bright vista of the Kala Patthar because Mountain blocks sunlight. So undertaking a trip to the Kala Patthar can sometime turns out to be disadvantageous. In the afternoon, sunlight scatters elsewhere in the Kala Patthar rock, brightening and beautifying it beyond belief. Even in the normal conditions, it is customary to see northern flank and pinnacle of Lhotse. Two most man-make aspects of Kala Patthar are that it is festooned with prayer flags. These flags themselves are the embodiment of indigenous Sherpa people's robust faith in Buddhism, the most scientific religion of the world. These flags also illustrate how deep-rooted Buddhist doctrine is in the community of Sherpa people who claim to be the native and indigenous inhabitants of Himalayan range. Another equally important

The charisma of the Kala Patthar is revealed at the time of sunset. The entire prospect of the Kala Patthar gets tainted with golden and vermillion color at sunset. To lose the sight of Kala Patthar embellished with golden rays and lights of the sun set is to miss the Kohinnor and Charisma of the Kala Patthar. One hindrance can restrict trekkers from enjoying this kind of invaluable experience. This hindrance is that sometimes clouds hanging over in sky prevents trekkers from enjoying the view and vista of various summits of mountains. But this drawback does not linger for a long time. A favorable time to go to Kala Patthar is the afternoon time. Those who wait for sunset really enjoy the incomparable moment to sightseeing the veiled face of Kala Pattahar bedecked with bright beam and beauty.
